Glen Steward

Founder & Chairman

Glen is a seasoned entrepreneur and professional with more than 28 years of experience in the investment and trading industries. He holds directorships and board memberships in various financial sector companies across Mauritius, South Africa, and the USA.

Currently, Glen serves on the boards of two asset management companies regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) in South Africa and the Financial Services Commission (FSC) in Mauritius. His exceptional leadership and expertise have been instrumental in navigating the complexities of the financial landscape.

Glen is also the Chief Strategy Officer and Board member of US-listed FAVO Capital Inc, the rapidly growing direct funding Company, focused on providing customised, short-term funding to small and mid-sized businesses in USA. His strategic acumen was pivotal in the integration of the FAVO Group of Companies into FAVO Capital, Inc, leading to his appointment to the Advisory Board in June 2023.

In 2000, Glen founded Stewards International Funds PCC, leveraging the valuable experience gained from working with renowned investment banks such as Merrill Lynch and DMG Deutsche Morgan Grenfell during his five-year tenure in London.

He is also the Founder and Director of Foundation Fund Managers (Pty) Ltd, Secure Clear Trade Finance (Pty) Ltd in South Africa and Secure Clear Treasury Ltd (Mauritius). Glen has founded Stewards Financial Custodians and Stewards International Ltd where he serves as Director and Chief Investment Officer.

Bilal Adam

Chief Executive Officer

With over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, Bilal has honed his expertise through a specialised career that began as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte and Investec, before becoming the CEO of AfrAsia Capital Management. His strategic vision, extensive knowledge and investor performance led him to take the helm of Stewards Investment Capital in 2019. Under his leadership, the firm has achieved instrumental growth, introducing innovative new investment solutions that deliver stellar returns to institutional and high-net-worth investors.

Passionate about niche investments, Bilal distinguishes Stewards by offering bespoke and unique investment solutions, including fixed income, equity and digital asset strategies.

His holistic expertise in these spheres contribute significantly to Stewards Investment Capital’s innovative approach, establishing the firm as an industry leader. Bilal serves as the Founder Chairman of Arrel Technology Ltd, a blockchain fintech business based in Mauritius. His dedication to economic development is further demonstrated through his role as the President of the South African Chamber of Commerce in Mauritius since 2020.

Additionally, Bilal also serves on the Advisory Board of US listed fast growing microfinance firm Favo Capital. He is a Director on the Board of a leading African crypto exchange, VALR and Enhanced Investment Products Limited (EIP), a niche Asian investment manager.

Bilal is a Chartered Accountant accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree, among other financial qualifications.

Suneeta Motala

Chief Marketing Officer

Suneeta is a highly accomplished Chief Marketing Officer with over 25 years of experience in the financial sector. She has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in brand strategy, marketing, communications, and customer experience on both local and international stages.

Her career began at HSBC in 1994, where she spearheaded various roles including sales, marketing, credit risk management, and branch operations. In July 2007, Suneeta embarked on a transformative journey with AfrAsia Bank, playing an instrumental role in establishing its unique identity as a key player in the financial services industry through unified branding, marketing, and communications strategies.

She holds an MSC in Marketing, a certification from International Financial Advisers, a General Management certification from ESSEC Business School, and a Pre-Associateship from the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

As CMO of Stewards Investment Capital, she oversees brand strategy, marketing, communication, and business development across Mauritius, South Africa, and USA, while leading global marketing initiatives of the Group to drive business growth.

Suneeta is a member of the Forbes Communications Council, where she regularly contributes her thought leadership insights alongside other experts on Forbes.

Nathaniel Tsang Mang Kin

Chief Operating Officer

Nathaniel is a financial expert with over 12 years of experience in the offshore investment sector. He began his career in a tech group, where he held a management position overseeing product development in digital assets and licensed financial activities. He then served as an investment manager at a private investment firm, focusing on private equity and private debt sectors, and worked as a derivative trader at an international clearing house. Subsequently, he joined Arrel Technology, a digital asset firm, where he specialised in quantitative research for digital asset-based strategies. In this key investment role, he emphasized algorithmic trading and market-neutral strategies for decentralised finance (DeFi) protocols.

Currently, Nathaniel is the Head of Financial Operations at Stewards Investment Capital, leading the financial operations team. His responsibilities include deal origination and financial structuring for structured products, private equity, and digital assets. Additionally, he serves as an external advisor to the management team of Dolomite Ltd, an emerging digital asset-based money market and margin trading protocol, providing strategic guidance on institutional user acquisition and business development initiatives.

Nathaniel holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Queen Mary University and a law degree from BPP Law School. His diverse educational background equips him with the expertise to navigate both the intricacies of emerging sectors and the conventions of traditional finance.

Ashfaaq Aboobaker

Head of Investments

Ashfaaq Aboobaker brings over 20 years of experience in global financial markets, developed through key roles at leading investment banks and hedge funds. He holds a BSc and MSc in Physics from the University of Paris 7, a DESS in Finance from the University of Paris 6, and a Specialized Master in Finance from ESCP Business School.

Ashfaaq began his career in equity derivatives structuring at Société Générale in Paris, where he was part of the team that pioneered Correlation products. He then joined Superfund Asset Management, a quantitative hedge fund, latterly as a senior trader, leading the U.S. markets team based in Mauritius. In 2011, he joined Vantage Investment Management Ltd., where he managed trading and treasury operations across three funds, significantly contributing to the firm’s growth and helping scale AUM to USD 1.6 billion. He was appointed Head of Trading in 2021.

As Head of Investments at Stewards Investment Capital, Ashfaaq leads the firm’s portfolio strategy from Mauritius. He leverages his extensive experience in structuring and investment management to navigate complex markets and deliver strong returns across asset classes. His strategic insight and disciplined approach are key to advancing Stewards’ long-term performance and global growth objectives.

Katy Murless

Chartered Financial Analyst, Head of USA Operations

Katy Murless, CFA, brings over a decade of experience spanning financial, commercial, and investment management. She began her career at Deloitte, followed by leadership roles in the consumer-packaged goods industry. She later joined Abax Investments as an equity analyst and rose to assistant portfolio manager, where she managed the equity portion of a multi-asset fund and led the integration of ESG principles into the investment process.

Now serving as Head of U.S. Operations at Stewards Investment Capital, Katy oversees the firm’s investment strategy, operations, and growth initiatives across the United States. Based in Florida, she manages investment opportunities, monitors portfolio performance, and leads investor relations, ensuring strategic alignment with the firm’s long-term global vision.

Katy is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and she also holds the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing. Her expertise lies in financial analysis, portfolio management, and responsible investing, with a strong commitment to long-term value creation.

Beyond her professional work, Katy is passionate about mentorship and community impact. She actively supports young entrepreneurs from underrepresented backgrounds, advocates for early childhood education, and champions inclusivity and support for neurodivergent children—bringing both heart and leadership to every aspect of her work.

Natacha Ferdinand

KYC Specialist & Relationship Manager

As a KYC Specialist and Relationship Manager at Stewards Investment Capital, Natacha oversees investor onboarding, facilitates the due diligence and KYC processes for both new and existing investors. She builds and maintains strong relationships, providing investors with a seamless experience.

Divita Mokoonlall

Finance Manager

With over 10 years of experience, Divita brings a strong accounting background with a specialization in auditing. Before joining Stewards Investment Capital, she worked at BDO & Co, where she audited companies across various industries, including offshore management, gaming, software, and construction. Currently, Divita oversees the financial and accounting operations at Stewards Investment Capital, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and executed in compliance with relevant financial reporting and regulatory standards.
